Decrease Your Risk for COPD

  • Do not smoke
  • Quit smoking
  • Stay away from second–hand smoke
  • Wear a mask or respirator when working around dust, chemicals, paints and solvents (varnish, paint thinners, adhesives, inks, refrigerant/coolants, etc.)
  • Limit outdoor activity when ozone levels are high; check with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for daily ozone levels across the U.S.
