 New Asthma Assessment Guidelines Released by ATS/ERS
Noting the lack of assessment standards has made it difficult to compare the results of different studies, and that clinicians remain confused about the proper way to assess the condition, the organizations established a task force of asthma experts from around the world to come up with the guidelines. The document addresses asthma control, severity, and exacerbations, and also provides clinical recommendations clinicians can use on a routine basis to effectively assess their asthma patients. The guidelines were published in the July 1 edition of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and may be accessed by anyone free of charge here.
