![]() AARC and COPD Foundation Offer Free Lung Health Screenings Across the U.S. The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), in partnership with the COPD Foundation, is offering free lung screenings and lung health information throughout 2009 in several U.S. cities using their Mobile Spirometry Unit (MSU). Last year the MSU visited 20 cities, where AARC members (respiratory therapists, or RTs) tested nearly 16,000 people. “We’re using respiratory therapists with a pulmonary function background who can advise members of the public about lung health,” says Steve Nelson, MS, RRT, FAARC, AARC associate executive director. He noted everyone is invited to come out and get a free lung screening in the following areas:
